Nursing Infant Close-up

Infants

 6 weeks-12 months

In the infant program we provide a loving, nurturing, enriching environment to meet the individual needs of each baby in our care.

Our Philosophy

We work in Alliance with parents and become an extension of your family. In order for the program to succeed the kids need to be having fun throughout the day, which keeps them excited to come back the next day, which is a sure way the parents will know their kids are taken care of, and happy each day, leaving parents worry-free, knowing their children are in the best place they could be!

Care and Love!
Teachers and staff give our infants lots of love and attention by caring for, holding, and hugging the children often, ensuring they feel secure, safe and comfortable in their environment. We understand that the most important thing for the babies is a nurturing stable relationship with loving responsive caregivers. Our teachers are parents or grandparents, so they understand the basics of what babies need to feel secure and safe.

Lots of Activities!
The activities we plan for infants are inviting and fun! We sing songs, read stories have sensory experiences and much more. We do infant sign language with our infants, Infants also enjoy outside time (when weather permits), visiting the library, gymnasium and daily music time too with the infant staff. The infant staff is very thoughtful about creating fun exciting lessons and activities throughout the day for infants to grow and thrive in learning.

Individualized Care!
Our teaching team adjusts to your infant’s individual schedules feeding times and amounts and sleeping routines as lengths will differ from one child to another. For this reason, we have not developed a “daily activities schedule”. It is our recommendation that we work in alliance with parents to meet the individual needs of each baby. We would like to continue the schedule you have already established at home so things are as consistent as possible for both parents and child.

Parent-Teacher Communication and Alliance!
Our teaching team communicates openly on a daily basis regarding infant schedule changes (diet routines, any restrictions, or any allergies). This is extremely crucial to know this information to keep your infant happy and healthy. We use Procare a live web-based program to communicate with you about your child’s day at Alliance. Please visit the website at www.procaresoftware.com to see what it is all about and to register once you decide to join the Alliance Family.

Some infants do not have a set schedule at home, which is perfectly okay. Infants grow and develop at their own rates and shouldn't conform to a set schedule. Parents and staff work closely in alliance to determine what is the healthiest schedule for each infant. This ensures their individual needs are net successfully. Our infant room starts as young as six weeks and kids generally stay in the room until they are between twelve and fourteen months. At that time, they are usually ready for a transition to the One-Year-Old Room. However, every child is different so we will work in alliance with parents to determine the best time for this transition.

Developing Strong Relationships!
We encourage parents to provide as much information about your infant and ask many questions about our program before you start our program. We ask that parents take part in a “visiting day” where they can meet most of the staff and the staff will have an opportunity to get to know your child before your first day. It is important to our teaching team that parents feel comfortable leaving their infant in our care, building trust and respect giving families peace of mind.
