Our Philosophy
We work in Alliance with parents and become an extension of your family. In order for the program to succeed the kids need to be having fun throughout the day, which keeps them excited to come back the next day, which is a sure way the parents will know their kids are taken care of, and happy each day, leaving parents worry-free, knowing their children are in the best place they could be!
The preschool program at Alliance Early Education Center is committed to giving your child and family – PEACE OF MIND. We hold very high standards in hiring quality teachers to ensure your child is in the very best care possible. Our curriculum is designed to meet the needs of each child as an individual. This enables the teacher to teach to each individual child. In doing so, we are looking at your child’s strengths and areas where growth is needed. We then set goals in ALLIANCE with you, the parent, which will best help your child grow as an individual. Aside from academic goals we help your child succeed through growth in social, physical and emotional skills. And most importantly we have fun in the process! We are committed to making sure every child succeeds and is safe during their time here.
Thank you very much for taking the time to consider Alliance. We believe we have something special to offer every child. We hope you can join our “family” soon!
Typical Daily Schedule
* The times of the activities will vary depending on your child’s classroom schedule. Please confirm times with your child’s teacher. This is a general outline of activities and time frames. *
6:00 - 8:00 Arrival, welcome and greeting families, self-directed activities, children’s choice, time to build, explore, laugh, learn and grow independently together in the library
8:00 – 9:00 Wash hands and breakfast time (Healthy choices, focus on manners, social time, teachers interact with the kids)
9:00 – 9:30 Morning Meeting! Here the group sings songs, reads stories, theme-based activities, and begin the daily lesson. Sets the stage for the days learning and play. Teachers and kids sit down together and write the day’s agenda.
9:30 – 10:15 Large-motor activities: weather permitting this time will be outside.
If the weather does not cooperate with us we can utilize our big room and gymnasium, (2+acres outdoor play space or full-sized gym = win/win)
10:15 – 11:15 Learning Centers! During this time each classroom will visit the different centers that are located in their rooms. This is also a great opportunity for the children to have one-on-one time with the teachers. (Reading, writing, literacy, phonics, pre-reading skills, early literacy skills, name recognition, math, technology, art, science etc.)
11:15 – 12:00 Clean up our room. We are a family. This is our room. We own it!
Wash our hands and begin lunch - family style!
12:00 – 12:30 Reading stories and other literacy activities. (Reading, writing, sounds, etc.)
12:30 – 2:15 Nap time. Children will be encouraged to nap. Children who do not wish to nap will have quiet time for self-directed activities. This is also a great opportunity for the children who do not nap to have one on one time with their teacher. If there is something in particular they are having a difficult time with, this gives them extra time to work with their teachers. Great bonding time for kids and teachers! All children will be given activities after 20-30 minutes of quiet time on their cots. Each child’s nap schedule is determined by the child’s parents, children are not required to nap.
2:15 – 3:00 Wake-up, wash hands and eat snack. Healthy snacks served family style.
3:00 – 4:00 Afternoon meeting and activities - Time to re-focus – review what we have done so far today and talk about all we have accomplished and how we would like to end our day together.
4:00 – 5:00 Large-motor activities (inside/outside depending on weather) Run, play, chase, laugh, climb trees, slide on a great big sledding hill or get buried in sand.
5:00 – 5:15 Gather backpacks, jackets and items to bring home. Together we must take care of our space and regroup for tomorrow – After 5pm, children spend time in the library
5:15 – 5:30 Group story time
5:30 – 6:00 Go to the gymnasium/library and say our good-byes. Those who are here late in the day will have a few extra minutes in the “big gym” or library most days.
TRANSITIONS:
Preschoolers may transition from one classroom to another in June and/or September. We make every attempt to keep them in the same group for the school year. Any changes, will be made by Alliance Staff, based on the individual child’s development, the ages of other children in the room (as transitions are usually done with a buddy) availability of space in the next program, and many other factors. Parents are always consulted regarding changes in the child’s class. Parents are encouraged to discuss transition issues with pre-school and school-age staff. The transition schedule of each child will be determined by the Alliance staff, and discussed with parents prior to the start of the transition.
